A desktop environment is a collection or group of Software running on  an Operating System that makes up the desktop  Graphical User Interface GUI. It always includes how the windows of an operating System look  like and feel, to the style of the icons, file, and even the mouse pointer. A desktop environment also include text editor, file manager, wallpaper, other utility programs and a Graphical interface used to log in and log out of the system. Desktop environment help the user to use the operating system very easily.
